Overview
The FisCalc (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website thefiscalc.com and provides free financial calculators for Australian users. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. We are committed to compliance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Data We Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information you enter into our calculators. All calculations run entirely in your browser. No calculator inputs or results are ever sent to our servers.
We collect the following non-personal, aggregated data through third-party services:
- Google Analytics 4: Pages visited, session duration, device type, browser, approximate geographic location (country/city level), and referral source. This data is anonymous, aggregated, and used solely to understand how our calculators are used so we can improve them.
- Google AdSense: Ad impression and click data associated with advertisements served on this site. This is handled entirely by Google and is subject to Google’s own privacy policy.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, financial details, or any other personally identifying information unless you contact us directly.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies placed by third-party services. We do not set any first-party tracking cookies. The cookies used on this site fall into two categories:
| Cookie type | Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics | Google Analytics 4 | Measures page visits and usage patterns anonymously |
| Advertising | Google AdSense | Serves relevant ads; may use browsing history across sites |
You can disable cookies in your browser settings or opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You can manage your Google advertising preferences at adssettings.google.com.
Third-Party Advertising
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on The FisCalc. Google may use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting google.com/settings/ads. The FisCalc has no access to or control over cookies used by Google or other third-party advertisers.
We Do Not Sell Personal Data
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer any personal information to third parties. We have no personal data to sell — our calculators are designed from the ground up to process everything locally in your browser without any data leaving your device.
Australian Privacy Principles
The FisCalc is committed to compliance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). In particular:
- We only collect information that is reasonably necessary for our website’s function (APP 3).
- We do not use or disclose personal information for purposes other than those described here (APP 6).
- We take reasonable steps to protect any information held against misuse, loss, and unauthorised access (APP 11).
- You have the right to access and correct any personal information we hold about you (APP 12 & 13). As we hold virtually none, this request can generally be fulfilled immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be published on this page with an updated “last updated” date. Continued use of The FisCalc after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
